Letting go of anxiety, doubt and worries by practicing the Falun Dafa meditation practice

Freeing myself of anxiety, doubt and negative thoughts
Falun Dafa is a peaceful practice that has brought peace to my inner world, and a calmness I hadn’t known before. While I am deeply grateful for my enhanced health, vitality, and energy, the most significant gift has been freedom from the inner struggles of anxiety, doubt, and negative thoughts.
I’ve always found life very challenging, mainly because I made it that way. Ever since childhood, my mind would be full of endless worries, doubts and anxieties, all of which had a flow on effect to my well-being.
My fears kept me on high alert, which was an exhausting way to live and made me hyper-sensitive to the moods of those around me. To cope, I closed myself off and spent a lot of time in solitude.
I was happy in my own company as it gave me a chance to catch my breath and calm my body before I had to face the outside world again. Over the years, I was drawn to various self-help books and courses, psychotherapy, meditation, and a wide variety of healing modalities.
However, none of these removed my deep-seated fears. I tried various spiritual groups and religions, but I still felt something was missing.
Discovering the free meditation practice of Falun Dafa
Years later, help came in an unexpected form - Falun Dafa, and surprisingly it was free! I’d seen the classes advertised in our local paper – the description of gentle exercises appealed to help me relax and manage my stress. I decided to try it and was amazed at the spiritual wisdom shared in the main book Zhuan Falun. To my pleasant surprise, I found fulfilment in this spiritual practice and finally found a way to free myself from my self-made torment. The focus on truthfulness, compassion and tolerance helped me refine my character, and change the erroneous thoughts I’d had about myself. At long last I found something that truly resonated with me.
Processing and letting go of fear and heavy emotions during the Covid-19 pandemic
When the Covid-19 pandemic happened, safety became a major concern globally. In the past, an event like this would have consumed me with stress, as I didn’t feel safe in the world, even at the best of times. I would have felt burdened by a heavy load of emotions and anxiety paralysis. Thankfully, with the wisdom shared in Zhuan Falun I had the ability to process my heightened fears and heavy emotions.
Practising the Falun Dafa exercises and reading Zhuan Falun to further cultivate myself, grounded me and gave me a positive focus and sense of well-being. I was able to step beyond fears, and my renewed energy helped me re-connect with people, including participating in various voluntary work projects. My thoughts are now harmonious because I believe there is a bigger picture to what is happening in the world.
Feeling safe in the world, letting go of doubt and worries
Worries, doubts and anxieties still well up sometimes to trick me, but I am quicker to recognise them. They no longer control my life or harm my well-being as they did in the past. It is such joy to feel safe in the world, which for me, is unusual as I see an increasing amount of disarray, disharmony, and destruction globally. Yet now I have hope, faith, trust, and peace, which I truly appreciate.
These are the rich rewards that come from being a Falun Dafa practitioner.
